CTM 2021 »Transformation« will round out its 22nd edition with four in-person events running 3 – 12 September in Berlin. Effectively a »part two« of the festival, this autumnal series of events will showcase works that could not be shown in January due to the pandemic. The collection of performances and installations shown all deal with processes and questions of change in critical and affective ways, continuing the exploration of this year’s  »Transformation« festival theme.

In cooperation with Nusasonic, Musicboard Berlin will grant a two-month residency to one Berlin-based musician, who should work virtually and in tandem with an artist based in Singapore. This is the second residency offered in cooperation with Nusasonic, which is a collaborative project between Playfreely/BlackKaji (Singapore), Yes No Klub (Yogyakarta), WSK Festival for the Recently Possible (Manila), CTM Festival (Berlin), and Goethe-Institut that aims to foster dialogue between musicians within Southeast Asia with links to Europe and beyond.

Part two of the 2021 Nusasonic: Gather Share Evolve edition continues with workshops and discussions aimed to foster capacity building and knowledge sharing among music and sound artists in Southeast Asia. Workshops are limited capacity, and require pre-registration, while panel discussions are open to all. For those that missed May's panel discussion on decentralising and commoning music, you can check the recording on the Nusasonic YouTube channel.

We are currently looking for an intern to support us in Festival Administration for CTM 2022, with core dates of 28 January – 6 February 2022. While the exact dates, scope, and format of our 23nd festival edition are still uncertain, we are steadily navigating changing restrictions in order to respond to ongoing pandemic challenges with experimentation, creativity, and reflection.
